Windows Vulnerability hits 9 million PC's     Downandup Worm hits 9 million PC's and counting:   Security firm Kaspersky reveals a Microsft Windows vulnerability that affects XP, Windows 200, Windows Server and Windows Vista. It was revealed that a security vulnerability is being exploited by a trojan known as Downandup, Kido or Conficker had infected over 9 million PC's and was still increasing in numbers. Some of the know threats have been reported as originating from Social Network sites and by downloading pictures from the Internet. The purpose of DowandUP or Conficker is not yet known and security consultants are presentley What is known is that it is a clever Trojan that can disguise and proytect itself leaving it hard to combat.   Conficker update 21/02/2010   The 'DownanUP' or 'Conficker' Trojan that was reported late in 2008 / early 2009 was finally reported to have infected over 15 million PC's worldwide. Microsoft did eventually release a Hotfix Update to fix the Security Vulnerability within it's Windows operating systems around November 2008. If you think you may be at risk then you should run  Windows Automatic Updates to fix this issue. Also installing a very good Proactive Internet Security program willl help keep threats to a bear minimum.
